Unintended Consequences
Ingrid tweaked the settings on the Neuro-Synch, pointedly not looking at her partner.
Kevin was the one who had started the Neuro-Synch project. He had obtained the funding, developed the theory, and built the initial (non-functional) prototype. He was the one who contacted her, convinced her of the potential of the idea, and asked her to help. He was also the one who was talking about giving up, who refused to even try her suggested modifications, and who was driving her nuts with his constant complaining about his wife.
