Daily Scintilla – Aliens!
Here’s your food, can I get you anythink else?
No thanks.
…
Is it just me, or do the staff here have strange diction? She just asked if we wanted any *thinks,* and the hostess kept saying ‘hi yous guys.’
Maybe it’s talk like a gangster day.
I think they’re aliens.
You always think every one’s an alien. Did you ever think that maybe everyone else is normal, and *you’re* the alien?
Hmm…
Daily Scintilla – Worldbuilding
A world which, by virtue of location, physical structure, or some other factor, is ideally suited to the creation of gates or portals between worlds (yes, somewhat Stargate-ish). A gate, either created or naturally occurring, brings a human population there from Earth, who become gate-builders. The expansion of the universe and other factors can break a gate without warning, either temporarily or permanently. So – lots of possibilities. A world of aliens lost through natural gates. A culture of explorers and colonists, who scout blind through new gates and then set up colonies. An inter-stellar society limited by the policies and fees of the nexus-planet. One of the colonies, cut off from all aid or escape and dealing with unexpected challenges. Definitely a world, a universe, to develop in more detail.
Daily Scintilla – Transcendance?
Animals are beautiful – unitary, sane. They say you can always trust animals to be honest. It’s not always true, but it stems from the fact that they only have one face, one self, to show.
Humans, on the other hand, are multiplicitous. We are divided within, and even an individual may not know what faces they are hiding, deep within. This is, fundamentally, insanity.
If you think I just implied that the whole human race is insane, I did.
Do I then advise a return to animalhood, to singularity and sanity? Of course not. I am as insane as the rest of you, after all. I cannot help but wonder what lies over the next horizon, what new stage of consciousness awaits once we outgrow this pubescent discord and reach our species’ intellectual adulthood – transcendance.

Daily Scintilla – Hair color
Here’s a question for you: in anime and cartoons, characters frequently have technicolor hair that doesn’t obey the laws of physics.
Do you think, within the context of a given fictional world, that these characters dye their hair and use industrial grade gel?
Daily Scintilla – Crazy…
“The more you die, the crazier you get.”
“What’s that supposed to mean? Are you crazy?”
“Could be, could be…”
