Crossfit… And more sky-krill
Right now, simply lifting a finger to type on my phone is difficult… And yet, I still love Crossfit.
Is it masochism? Endorphins? The faith that if I keep doing this, I’ll get fit and strong?
The last, for the most part. The middle, on occasion. I’m discounting the first possibility since my only other possibly masochistic inclination is a love of spicy food.
Fortunately, there are plenty of people who started as out of shape as me. (or even more out of shape) Like this one. (read the whole pdf) I totally empathize with feeling like the warmup was the workout, though it’s starting to be easier.
Solyndra (isn’t that a great name for a character? Even if the company gives it bad connotations. And anyway, I can’t remember what her name was a couple off days ago.) let herself in and waved at Tony’s ‘veilance before helping herself to a drink from the lemonade pitcher in the chiller. Then she flopped onto the sofa to wait, reading.
When the door finally opened she stalled out of a light doze and glanced in surprise at her com. “Are you kidding?” She asked as she rose. “I got here over an hour ago… What happened to you?”
Tony stared at her for a moment, then continued through the room and disappeared into the bath.
“Tony?” Solyndra debated simply leaving, but a combination of curiosity and worry sent her to the bath door instead. “Hey Tony! What happened? Why were you outside?”
“Lawn,” came the muffled reply, almost drowned out by the sound of running water.
“Lawn? Did you say lawn? Why…” She realized he wasn’t listening, and leaned back against the wall to wait for him to finish washing eggsacks out of his hair.
