Spam… not spam.
Hmm… I evidently need to keep a closer eye on my spam filter here. It does a good job, but occasionally eats entirely legitimate comments. Thanks to Brian for catching it, and sorry to Katie that I didn’t keep an eye out for that!
I’ll try to keep a closer eye on it from now on, but if any of you notice a comment not showing up that should,
Tweaking
I made a couple of tweaks to the site, including adding a share/email button at the bottom of posts. I also finally uploaded a picture.
Let me know if anything is annoying!
Daily Scintilla – Voices
Voices, whispering, always whispering. When he was alone in the car, he would turn the radio off and listen. Faintly, he could hear the voices, right at the edge of hearing, there but not quite loud enough to understand. Sometimes, he thought that trying to understand what they were saying would drive him mad. Other times, he wondered if they were a sign that he already was.
Tweaking
I made some tweaks to the website during lunch today – let me know if I broke anything, or if you have any suggestions. Thanks!
Question for you:
Who would be interested in listening to the weekly stories as podcasts?
The stories would still be posted on a weekly basis as text, and I imagine the podcasts would be posted some time after – perhaps later in the day or the next week, depending on how putting them together works out.
The reason I ask is I have one friend who mentioned she hasn’t had time to read them, but would enjoy listening to stories on her commute. So I figure if she’s interested, maybe other people are too.
Daily Scintilla – The Day Before Tomorrow
Nearly forgot… I was lying in bed, nearly asleep, then realized… Well, I have a minute or two…
She looked around, wondering why Greg had brought her to such a crappy little restaurant. Then she looked past the plywood tables and paper napkins and caught sight of the view beyond the windows.
The landscape was blasted, barren of vegetation, with the wreckage of cars and houses scattered about as if dropped by a careless – and destructive – child. She had seen nothing like it on the way in…
“What… is that?” she asked, walking closer to the panoramic windows.
“Tomorrow,” Greg said. “It’s been taking a turn for the worse lately.”
It really was a window, not just a picture. Looking to the side, she saw the landscape extending into the distance. “And where are we?”
“The day before tomorrow,” he said with a smile.
New site theme
As you can see, the site has changed a bit. I quite liked the look of the old site theme, but it didn’t allow for threaded comments at all, which made it look a bit odd when I responded to comments and my responses all wound up in a lump at the bottom of the list.
I like the idea of being able to have conversational comments
